AN IRISH rugby legend’s son looks like he could step into his father’s boots after scoring a stunning try in a schools final at Thomond Park on Wednesday.
Keith Wood’s son Alexander was playing for St Munchins College of Limerick against Christian Brothers College Cork in the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup.
His side led by just three points, 8-5, when the young Wood worked his magic.
The out-half took the ball just inside the opposition half before racing through the CBC defence to touch down behind the posts.
St Munchins went on to win 15-10 for their first Junior Cup since 1998.
Former Ireland hooker described the try as ‘outrageous’, while also having a dig at his former teammate.

Alexander’s father Keith and grandfather Gordon both played for Ireland and the British and Irish Lions.
With skills like this, would you bet against him following in their footsteps?
