Tyrone GAA club victim of suspected arson attack

THE clubhouse of GAA club Tír Na nÓg in Tyrone has been badly damaged in a suspected arson attack.

A window is believed to have been broken before a flammable fluid was poured inside the building and set alight.

Police are not treating the motive as sectarian but Sinn Féin MLA Bronwyn McGaha disagrees.

Ms McGahan said: "These attacks are I believe sectarian in nature. I am calling on unionist leaders to stand shoulder to shoulder with my party in condemnation of [the attack].

"Unionists need to reach out to the GAA if we are to halt these attacks."

It is believed the attack took place some time between 10.30pm on Saturday night and 8.30am on Sunday morning.
