Young Irish woman in critical condition following horrific car accident in Spain

THE family of a young Irish woman who was seriously injured in a car accident in Spain are holding vigil by her hospital bedside.

Louise Lynch, 21, is a native of Radrinagh in Spa, Killarney, Co. Kerry.

The popular young woman was one of a number of people injured in a horrific car accident in Badajoz, south west Spain last month, her family have confirmed.

A graduate of University College Cork, Louise moved to Spain to teach English to primary school children.

On February 24 she was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident in which one person died and three others were injured, according to Killarney Today.

Louise and two friends were returning from a day out when the accident happened.

A woman in the other car is reported to have died in the crash.

Louise sustained serious internal, cranial and abdominal injuries and many fractured bones in the accident.

She remains in a serious condition in the intensive care unit at the Infanta Christina hospital in Badajoz, Spain.

Her family, parents Seamus and Nora Lynch and siblings Marie and James, have all travelled to Spain to be with her.

They have set up a fundraising account to help cover the ongoing expenses related to Louise’s hospital treatment, travel and accommodation costs in Spain.
