Young cyclist killed in road collision

A 17-YEAR-OLD has died following a collision with a bus.

The teenager was cycling in the area of Bettystown, Co. Meath at approximately 5 pm before the incident.

The cyclist was on the Golf Links road when the minibus collided with him causing the death.

According to RTÉ, the body of the deceased was moved to Navan Mortuary pending a post-mortem.

The motorist behind the wheel of the bus was not injured in the incident.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses with information to come forward.
