Woman in serious condition as four injured in shocking knife attack in Co. Down

A WOMAN is in a serious but stable condition following a shocking knife attack in Co. Down.

PSNI detectives in Newry are appealing for information following the stabbing incident, which took in the Queens Park area of Saintfield in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Three men were also injured in the attack, with all four victims taken to hospital for treatment.

Inspector Henry of the PSNI said: “It was reported that at approximately 3.40am, a male attacked several people at a property with a knife, causing injuries to three men and one woman.

“All the victims were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries, where the woman remains in a serious but stable condition.”

A male suspect fled the scene in a blue Volvo c870, registration K9 NES.

A 46-year-old man has since been arrested in relation to the incident and remains in police custody.

Police have urged anyone who saw the vehicle in question to contact them immediately on 101, quoting reference 267 11/03/2018.
