The weather forecast for this week looks to return to traditional Irish climate

AFTER the weather designated for two weather warnings occurs, it looks like the rain is set to come to wash the remains of the snow away.

Earlier today, there was a status orange weather warning issued for the areas of Leinster and the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.

The warning says that continuing snow and ice will continue to lead to hazardous conditions.

The warning was issued today at 12 pm and is set to last until tomorrow, Monday, at 12 pm.

The status yellow weather warning of snow and ice has been issued for the province of Connacht along with counties such as Donegal, Clare, Kerry and Limerick.

Snow and ice in these areas are set to cause hazardous conditions for motorists and pedestrians so people are advised to be careful.

The yellow weather warning for the aforementioned is valid until tomorrow at 12 pm.

For the rest of the country, it will be cold on Monday but temperatures will be set to reach between 5 and 7 degrees.

For anyone wanting the last of the snow gone as soon as possible, there's good news as there will be an overall rise in temperatures happening throughout the week.

Tuesday will be a bright day with even sunny spells predicted. All areas of the country will have good dry spells with a little sunshine, and it'll set to be mostly dry apart from rainy or hailstone spells. Temperatures will range from 4 to 7 degrees.

Tuesday night will bring a layer of frost and Wednesday will remain cold. Showery spells will also occur - some wintry. Top temperatures are set to hit 4 to 8 degrees.

Thursday will be cold also, but relatively dry.
