SINN FEIN will meet with leaders of both the Irish and UK governments today to discuss the failed bid to restore power-sharing in the North.
The talks ended on Wednesday after the DUP declared there was “no current prospect” of a deal.
Hopes were high earlier this week that a deal that all parties could agree on was imminent, however, the 13 month stalemate at Stormont continues.
Earlier this week, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Prime Minister Theresa May flew to Belfast to hold discussions with political parties in the North.
Now, Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O’ Neill will speak with both governments in an attempt to revive the talks.
According to DUP leader Arlene Foster, the talks failed due to disagreements with Sinn Fein about legislation for the Irish language.
On the other hand, Sinn Fein’s Stormont leader Michelle O’ Neill has accused the DUP of having “collapsed” the talks process.
