Second man arrested on suspicious of hit-and-run killing of Irishman Matthew Bradley in Britain

POLICE investigating the hit-and-run death of young Irishman Matthew Bradley in Liverpool have arrested a second man in the space of a week.

Mr Bradley, 24, was struck and killed by a silver BMW 330 car in the city centre at around 11.40pm on Friday.

The award-winning landscape gardener from Co. Antrim was left to die on the street after the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident failed to stop.

Police later recovered the vehicle abandoned nearby before a forensic examination was conducted by road traffic collision investigators.

Detectives have now arrested a man from Bradford on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, just days after the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Vauxhall.

The 33-year-old man has been conditionally bailed to appear in court in December.

In a heartbreaking tribute released by Matthew’s parents Donal and Margaret Bradley at the weekend, the tragic Irishman was described as a “funny, kind-hearted and generous young man”.

Bunches of flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of the crash – including one by his devastated girlfriend Rhiannon Williams.

She wrote: “My darling Matthew. I really can’t believe you’re gone.

“I love you so much and I don’t know how to go on without you. I just can’t believe it.

“Rest in peace honey. Yours always, Rhi xxxxx.”
