A RED ARROWS jet has crashed at an RAF base in North Wales, with emergency services called to the scene.
The incident occurred this afternoon at RAF Valley in Holyhead, Anglesey, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
An MoD spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident today at RAF Valley involving a Hawk aircraft.
'We are investigating the incident and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
It is understood there were two people onboard the jet at the time.
At least one pilot was seen to eject from the aircraft before it impacted the ground at around 2pm.

An air ambulance has been scrambled to RAF Valley to assist the emergency services already on scene.
The RAF said an investigation had been launched but were unable to give further details, adding: "We are aware of an incident today at RAF Valley involving a Hawk aircraft.
"We are investigating the incident and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon to reports an aircraft had crashed at RAF Valley in Holyhead.
"There is an emergency ambulance and a Wales Air Ambulance at the scene."
A number of the famous acrobatic Red Arrows aircraft have been preparing for the coming display season at the base, where Prince William served as a search and rescue helicopter pilot.
Holyhead is one of the most westerly towns in Britain and acts as a major Irish Sea port serving Ireland.
