THE skies across Britain and Ireland were ablaze with colour last night as the Northern Lights shone.
For the next couple of weeks, the beautiful natural phenomenon will be visible in northern parts of Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.
But even in some more southerly parts of both countries, the skies were lit up with colour.
Two coinciding space weather patterns have caused the Northern Lights, which are more closely associated with Iceland than Ireland, to grace our skies.
Amateur photographers took to the great outdoors across Britain and Ireland last night to capture the lights.
