Man dies following fire in Dublin

A man has died on the North side of County Dublin.

An elderly man has passed away following injuries sustained by a house fire.

According to The Irish Times, a 78-year-old man was home alone when the blaze took off.

The fire occurred at a residence at Hibernian Avenue, Ossary Road in North Strand and the man who lived there alone was the only victim of the blaze.

Gardaí have no reason to believe the fire was started of malicious intent.

The man was taken from the scene of the fire but was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
