Man has died following collision in Ulster

A MAN has died after being struck by a motorist in County Donegal.

The victim was hit by a car in the area of Bridgend.

The driver of the offending Opel Omega crashed into two pedestrians at approximately 11.55pm on Saturday night, killing one and injuring another.

According to The Irish Times, the two pedestrians hit were in their 20s.

The critically injured victim was brought to Altnegelvin Area Hospital where he was pronounced as dead and it is believed the second pedestrian is not seriously injured.

The motorist behind the wheel, a man in his 30s, was arrested by Gardaí at the scene of the incident on the suspicion of dangerous driving.

He is currently being detained at Buncrana Garda station.
