Irish pub comes up with brilliant way of stopping lavatory graffiti

HAVING grown tired of graffiti appearing in their bathroom stalls, staff at an Irish pub quite literally went back to the drawing board.

In the toilets of the Salt House in Galway, a sign explains that “there seems to be a small portion of the population that feels an uncontrollable urge to write on toilet doors.”

The pub’s answer to the scribblers?

A wall-mounted Magna Doodle, or as it was once affectionately known—Etch-A-Sketch.

"If you really feel the urge to wax poetically or to set your inner artist free while taking care of business”, the pub recommends, “please use the magnadoodle we have now provided for you.”

Doodlers are even encouraged to “take a photo of what you made and send it to us on our Facebook page for all to see.”

According to that Facebook page, the Magna Doodle measure is working “so far so good” in its mission to keep the bathroom walls wordless.

Let’s hope that draws a line under the matter.
