Gardaí intercepted what they believe to have been a potential gangland shooting in Wexford.
Officers challenged a number of men seen getting out of vehicles in a field at Millands, Co. Wexford around 12.45am last night.
Two men were arrested after guns and ammunition were seized in Gorey.
A 27-year-old was arrested at the scene and two firearms, as well as a quantity of ammunition, were found in a car.
A 25-year-old man was arrested in a follow-up operation in the area.
Three cars were seized as a result of the investigation.
