TWO Northern Irish footballers were on the receiving end of foul-mouthed outbursts in a video that has been posted online.
Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday have issued statements regarding the video, reportedly filmed in London last January.
The video appears to be addressed to Northern Ireland player Mikhail Kennedy, 20, and criticises the standard of the Northern Ireland international team.
Northern Ireland and Charlton player Josh Magennis, 27, is also mentioned in the video.
The video, revealed by The Sun, opens with Charlton Athletic keeper Dillon Phillips declaring "Northern Ireland are baggy", before the camera turns to the others.
Current Charlton vice-captain Chris Solly then says: "John Magennis is your (Northern Ireland’s) number nine, that sums it up."
Charlton defender Harry Lennon then comes into view, adding: "Urgh, Northern Ireland,"
Former Charlton and current Sheffield Wednesday player Morgan Fox adds: "Can’t even get in our 21s team, you mug.”
The camera then turns to Ricky Holmes, who moved from Charlton to Sheffield United in January.
He tells the camera: "Micky? You’re a baggy Irish c*** man.”
Roger Johnson, who played for Charlton at the time – and who has played in the Premier League for Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham in the past – then appears on camera to brand his former teammate a "pikey".
He then joins in the ribbing of Mr Kennedy and says to camera: "Micky, you're a f****** ugly little c***. You're a f****** pikey p****. You're white shit."
He adds: "You're mum's a s*** as well."
Following the shocking footage, Charlton made a statement saying the language used in the video was 'unacceptable'.
The statement said: "We have been made aware of a video involving current and former Charlton Athletic players that contains offensive and unacceptable language."
Charlton Athletic also said they would take action where necessary.
"We will be speaking to the players concerned that are still at the club," they added.
A Sheffield Wednesday spokesperson told The Sun: "We have viewed the video in question and roundly condemn the tone and nature of its content, which has no place in football or indeed any industry.
"Morgan’s contribution did not err towards the above, which would be wholly unacceptable from any employee of Sheffield Wednesday, player or otherwise.”
Sheffield United told The Sun: "This was whilst Ricky was a Charlton player, when he arrived at Sheffield United in January he was advised of the social responsibilities of players associated with the club."
