AN Englishman who was killed in a road crash in rural Co. Fermanagh may have lain undiscovered for up to five days, police have said.
Gary Douglas, 44, was found dead in his SUV on Tuesday after a member of the public spotted the vehicle lying at the bottom of an embankment off the A4 Belfast Road outside Enniskillen.
Mr Douglas, originally from Liverpool, had been reported missing on Monday, having last been seen on Thursday last week.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 44-year-old’s death.
PSNI Inspector Paula Johnston said: “We continue to investigate the circumstances that led to Mr Douglas’ death and are appealing for information.
“Our enquiries to date would suggest that the collision occurred sometime between Thursday February 1 and Tuesday February 6, and we would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the Belfast Road at any time over those days.
“We are especially keen to speak to anyone who saw Mr Douglas’ grey Renault Kadjar in the area at any point during that period of time.
“Please call police in Enniskillen or at the Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 400 06/02/18.”
