€60,000 worth of drugs from Thailand seized in Kerry

A MAJOR seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of €60,000 in Tralee today is believed to have been brought to Ireland from Thailand.

An intelligence-led operation conducted by Revenue, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Tralee Garda Drugs Unit uncovered three kilos of herbal cannabis in the rural town this morning.

According to Journal.ie, the illegal drugs had been concealed in household linen.

The operation as carried out as part of an ongoing joint investigation targeting drug importations in Tralee.

Gardai have arrested two men, aged 43 and 27, who were both brought to Tralee Garda Station for questioning.

Investigations are continuing with a view to prosecution.
