A YOUNG MAN has been left with serious injuries following an incident that happened in the early hours of this morning.
A 24-year-old man was discovered lying in the middle of the road after a hit and run with injuries sustained to his head.
In the area of Dublin 12, the young man was found bleeding between Parnell Road and Clogher Road.
According to Irish Mirror, the man was uncovered at approximately 5.55am this morning.
The authorities were alerted at this point and the victim was rushed to St. James' Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The scene of the crime was sealed off and examined by the forensics team.
Gardaí have reason to believe the victim was struck by a car which didn't stop at the scene, and are currently appealing for witnesses that were in the area to come forward with information.
The investigation is ongoing.
