Brian O'Driscoll fulfills promise to rugby fan and sends her plane selfie

NOT only is Brian O’Driscoll one of the greatest rugby players in history, he has also proved himself to be a true gentleman.

And Irish rugby fan Lynda Darcy has the proof.

It seems Lynda’s sister was one of the many Irish fans who headed for Cardiff to watch Ireland's World Cup opener against Canada.

Boarding the plane home, she found herself seated next to rugby legend BOD himself.

Just as she was about to snap a selfie her battery died, along with the hope of having her souvenir shot.

But being the star he is Brian took a picture using his own phone and duly fulfilled his promise to email it to her.

What a gent!

"My sister was on a flight home from Cardiff last Saturday after cheering on Ireland to their win in the Millennium Stadium and when she was taking her seat...who was she seated beside only Brian O'Driscoll," Lynda Darcy told JOE.ie.

"She said he was a lovely lad and chatted away to her. When she plucked up the courage to ask for a pic he obliged, no problem.

"However when she went to take the pic her battery died! Brian O'Driscoll being an absolute hero took the pic on his own phone and took my sister's email promising to email it on to her.

"Today the email arrived and I thought that I would share this little story of how down to earth and how much of a legend Brian O'Driscoll really is!"
