92-year-old Irishman dies three days after being hit by car in Cork

A 92-YEAR-OLD man who suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Tuesday has passed away.

The man, from Blackrock in Cork city, was struck by a passing vehicle when he crossed the road while out walking in Ballintemple village.

No one else was injured in the incident, which occurred near Ballintemple Post Office at around 2.30pm on February 6.

The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene and was treated for shock before assisting gardaí with their inquiries.

The pensioner was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he remained in a critical condition, before he succumbed to his injuries this morning.
