Liverpool Irish Scouse and Proud St Patrick’s Day Parade

The first big St Patrick’s Day Parade in the city since 1996. Bands include The Manchester Community Pipe Band, Cambria Welsh Drum Band and the Liverpool Irish Flute Band, plus a few members of the Liverpool Irish Pipe Band.

Time: Assemble at Great Orford Street at 2.30pm for 3pm start

St Patrick Day Celebrations

Music from Michael Coyne at St Michael’s Irish Centre. Michael is a top accordion player and will be providing the music for céilí and old time dancing, with a bit of country thrown in for good measure.

St Patrick’s Night Ball in aid of Good Life Orphanage

A black tie dinner and dance, with champagne reception. Entertainment includes music by fiddle player Richard Sanderson & Commotion, The Tara CCE band, The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band — plus a very special secret Irish dance display. DJ & compère Scott Welsby will anchor proceedings. The evening is in aid of The Good Life Orphanage.

Route: The parade leaves the Irish World Heritage Centre heading for Albert Square

Manchester Irish Festival St Patrick’s Breakfast

Enjoy a full Irish breakfast to kick start the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. The event, in aid of Irish Community Care, will see a keen contest for Manchester Irish Festival Banger of the Year. This eagerly contested competition will pit St Kent’s Burnage Banger against the Lovely Levy Sausage from the Levenshulme Pub Company. The sausage-eating community will be asked to taste and vote.
