THE WIND AND SNOW have well and truly scared the nation.
The layer of thick snow and frost threatened to last until Friday has left many Irish people fearing for getting their rations of food.
The 'Beast from the East' set to bring metres of snow has predicted leaving many people without transport.
The weather predictions have sent people running to the shop, with empty bread shelves easily spotted all over the Emerald Isle.
Many Irish people have shared pictures of their local supermarkets, with empty shelves to be seen everywhere.
