People who get told 'you aren't really Irish' have their say in frank online clip

A SHORT but thought-provoking online clip shows people explaining what makes them feel Irish in their own words.

Made by the people at  Facts, the video's caption reads: "We often receive comments directed at certain contributors, claiming that they aren't really Irish. Ireland is a multicultural country and is constantly becoming more diverse.

"We decided to bring some of the contributors whom people often claim aren't actually Irish into our studio to speak a little about their Irish upbringing."

One man, born in Nigeria, raised in Ireland, explains his experience growing up in "the only black family in Kildare", where people made comments like "nice colour."

"You would never say to an English person if they were brown, 'oh, you are not English,'" says another contributor.

Another woman explains when people ask her if she is English or Irish, nothing she says in reply is ever "the right answer".

Facts is an online brand that specialises in creating short YouTube videos.
