‘Too Paddy for London, too dramatic for Mayo’ – Irishman hilariously recounts moving to Britain in the most Irish way possible

MOVING to London can be a massive culture shock for anyone – let alone a country boy from the mean streets of rural Ireland.

Jack McKenna, who recently moved to the English capital from Mayo, is an up-and-coming comedian who is using his experience as a recent emigrant to poke fun at the differences between Londoners and the Irish abroad.

The self-confessed country bumpkin has documented his arrival on the London stand-up scene in hilarious fashion.

In his video The McKenna Dilemma, he takes to the streets lamenting the expensiveness of the city and the irritable nature of passers-by he has encountered along the way.

“In London, I had the complete opposite experience from my country bumpkin childhood,” McKenna says. "London is a fast-paced concrete stress jungle, with more raw and animalistic predators than you’d believe.”

The Irishman proceeds to apologise to a passer-by he accidentally brushes shoulders with on Oxford Street, only to be called a “d***head” in response.

"Too much of a Paddy for London, too much of a drama queen for Mayo," he adds.

We feel his pain all too well.
