Keith and Lorraine McDonald are keeping the Irish showband sound going

KEITH and Lorraine McDonald, from Co. Galway, have kept the showband sound alive over the years with their Reeling in the Showband Years show.

In keeping with the character of the great showband era they feature brass prominently in their line-up, with saxophone and trumpet to the fore.

You can experience their sound in person at The Irish Post Country Music Awards in Armagh on August 30.

Both Keith and his sister Lorraine have huge experience in showbusiness — Lorraine was once part of the great Conquerors showband.

Keith pays great respect to his father Frankie McDonald, who inspired both himself and Lorraine. Frankie played with Joe Dolan all over the world for some 40 years.

Today Keith and Lorraine tour all over Ireland, Britain, and beyond, presenting the very best of country and Irish and showband magic, and feature regularly on Irish television on shows such as Glór Tíre.

The Irish Post Country Music Awards take place on Wednesday, August 30 at The Armagh City Hotel, Co. Armagh. Join music fans from all over Ireland and Britain and book your ticket today.

Tickets can be booked from The Armagh City Hotel, 2 Friary Road, Armagh BT60 4FR, by calling 0044 283751 8888 or emailing [email protected]
