Police officers in Ireland seem to be having close encounters with suspects of the furry kind of late.
And while officers can sometimes find their job stretches beyond law enforcement, one PSNI sergeant found himself acting as a bovine midwife this week.
In a post which has now gone viral, the PSNI in Fermanagh explained how the encounter happened.
The unnamed sergeant was on patrol with a colleague in the Florencecourt area of the county when he spotted a cow in trouble.
"There was a cow who was giving birth in a field close to the road," the post on the PSNI Fermanagh Facebook page said.
"The eagle eyed constable with the Sergeant spotted it," the post read, "Our Sergeant, never leaving a female in distress, jumped to the cows aid and helped deliver the calf."
While some commenters thought it a 'cow and bull story', the page was quick to provide evidence of the event.
In the picture below, the Sergeant is seen tending to the calf while the mother looks on.
