Garryowen were unfortunate to miss out on a place in the final of the Murphy Cup as a last minute goal meant our match with St Josephs finished 2-5 to 1-7. It was a great effort from all of the players in difficult conditions.

Our league campaign begins this Sunday with a 3pm throw in against Thomas McCurtains. The game will take place in Goodmayes.   Congratulations to Eanna Kennedy who has been asked to train with the senior London panel after a string of impressive performances. It's well deserved after a huge amount of hard work from the Limerick native. It is great encouragement too that playing with Garryowen will get you on the Senior London radar.

Moindearg

We played St Brendan’s in the Semi Final of the Murphy Cup last Saturday in Ruislip. While we won by a point, it was a very evenly matched contest. St. Brendan’s aided by a strong breeze started the better with a couple of quick points in succession. Moindearg took a while to settle and struggled to deal with the strong breeze and the quick start of their opponents. We were somewhat lucky to go into the break only 9 points down.

With the half time introduction of Darren Mc Gowan proving pivotal they trimmed the St. Brendans lead with two fine scores and a well worked goal finished off by Sean Mc Donagh. The game was levelled up with a fine score from an Alan Dunne free with 10 minutes to go. The teams swapped scores and another Dunne free with two minutes to go proved to be the winning score.

The final of the Murphy Cup is scheduled for this Saturday, where we play St Josephs with a 4.30pm throw in at Ruislip. All support is welcome.  Training continues on Tuesday nights at Alec Reed Academy, Bengarth Road, Northolt, UB5 5LQ from 7.30pm.
