Lots of people travelled from Ireland to be at the Galtymore one last time.



A framed centre page spread from the Irish Post (from the early 80s) about the history of the Galtymore attracted plenty of a attention.

Mick O'Hare from Armagh has been compere at the Galtymore for many years and has also performed there as a musician. He is pictured on stage with his daughters Catherine and Elizabeth and their friend Charlotte Lucy. They played alongside the Dunloe Ceili Band for a set of ceili music.

Badge seller Danny Gunnery who has been a familiar face at the Galtymore and other Irish gatherings in London for many years. He made his name by bluffing his way into the winners enclosure at the Grand National and numerous other celebrity gatherings.

Tom Moran, owner of the Crown Moran hotel in Cricklewood, is pictured standing centre with his wife Sheila and friends Joe and Mary Davenport and Christine and TJ Connell.



Among those enjoying the night were back LtoR: Thomas O'Sullivan, Kathleen Moynihan and Marion O'Shea and front LtoR: Joan Gallagher, Judy Naughton and Peggy O'Sullivan.



Enjoying the night were Catherine O'Donnell from Cork, Eddie McDermott from Roscommon, Patsy Donnelly from Limerick, Hughie Clancy from Leitrim and Phylis Brosnan from Kerry.



Tony Griffin, Sean Jordan, Thomas Maher, Martin Duignan and Denis Cunningham are all from Westmeath and now based in East London. They are all Galtymore regulars.



Josephine Togher, and Mattie and Kathleen Morgan flew in from Galway on the morning of the Galty farewell. Kathleen worked there in the mid sixties and said she felt she had to be there for the last night.



Sisters Peggy Lydon and Bridie Folan are from Connemara and are pictured with their daughters Anne Marie Lydon and Christina Hernon. They all travelled from South London to be at the Galty. Peggy met her husband there 28 years ago.



Eileen Sweeney from the Galtymore is pictured right with her three sisters who flew over from Ireland for occasion. They are L to R: Siobhan, Kate and Ann Sweeney and the family are from Belmullet in Mayo.



Big Tom fan Paddy Murray lives in Miltown Malby in Clare and heard about the famous Galtymore closing down on Radio Kerry. He decided he had to be there for the historic event. He made his first ever trip out of Ireland to be there.



Maureen and Hughie Clancy met at the Galtymore in 1961 and have since married and raised a family in London.



Pat and Cathy Mooney met at the Galty in 1974 and were married in 1979. They now live in Harrow and said they just had to be at the Galty farewell.



Elaine Ryan and Gabrielle Morris flew over from Mayo for the Galtymore farewell. Both trained as nurses in London and were regulars at the Galty, and where Gabrielle met her husband.



Friends Anthony Arthur and Patrick McGettigan travelled over from Letterkenny in Donegal to be at the Galtymore farewell. They spent 8 years in London and went to the Galty every saturday night.


Bernie Guthrie from Monaghan and her daughter Laura are Big Tom fans and were having a great time at the Galty.



The Dunloe Ceili Band were the resident ceili band at the Galtymore and pictured are five of the musicians who played in the band. Their performance at the last night at the Galty got a fantastic reception. L to R: Brian Green from Cavan, John Chambers from Armagh, John Minogue from Clare, Mick O'Hare from Armagh and Mick O'Connor from Roscommon.



Pictured left is Rose Moriarty from Kilorglin in Kerry who has worked at the Galtymore for 32 years. Also pictured are Margaret and Ellen Byrne, Tom Moriarty, Sheila Fennis, Anna Kelleher and Peggy Keavney.



Having fun were Paul and Ursula Atkins, Tom and Ann O'Haire and Pauland Jeanie Brannon.
