More Mrs Brown's Boys on the way as cast sign up until 2018

THE cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys are riding off the popularity of the show to such an extent that they have committed to the show until 2018.

The stars of the hit Brendan O’Carroll series are currently on a break but are expected to be back working on the show next month.

Rory Cowan, who plays the gay son of TV matriarch Agnes Brown, revealed that the demands of the series have necessitated the actors to sign production and touring deals for the next four years.

"We're doing two Christmas specials in October then we're back on the road in March, finishing in Dublin doing six shows in the 3Arena," he said.

"That finishes on December 19 next year, and the year after we're off to tour Australia, New Zealand and Canada."

The Dubliner also revealed that in a fortnight he will be in London, where he’ll see Kate Bush in concert before watching co-star Jenny Gibney take to the dancefloor in Strictly Come Dancing.

He insists, however, that featuring in a reality series has never been an interest of his.

"I've no interest in taking on any other roles - I've never done anything other than Mrs Brown's Boys," he said.

"I've never even done an audition, and I've no interest in doing anything else because no matter what it is it's not going to be as big as Mrs Brown, so why would I bother?"
