THE KILDARE Memorial Feis has made a welcome return after a lapse of several years.
AT THE Kent and Sussex final of Dance for Life — an annual showcase of youth talent run by the British Red Cross — the top prize for choreography was awarded to the Courtney McMahon School of Irish Dance.
CUMANN Rince Gaelach (Irish Dance Society) is one of the smaller Irish dance organisations but with a consistently strong following of dance schools in various parts of Ireland.
PROUD Anna-Marie O’Connor-Gleeson organised her school’s annual class feis in Ashford, Middlesex, in which all of its dancers from tiny tots to the senior age groups came together for a day of friendly competition.
THE FIRST open feis in the calendar year in the Southern Region brought An Coimisiún dancers from all over Britain, Ireland and even the European mainland to the sixth annual Hennigan-O’Loughlin feis, held in a new venue in Harlow, Essex.
THE RECENT fifth Surrey championships and grade feis at the Leatherhead Leisure Centre was hugely successful.
THE JOHN Flanagan Memorial Feis, Oxford, is a longstanding event in the Southern region calendar, instituted by teacher Marion Flanagan in memory of her late father.
